Senior Developer, Digital Retail Platforms - Refunds @United Airlines

With a focus on web services development, day-to-day responsibilities include: • Developing lean, high-volume and RESTful, service-oriented APIs, supporting both XML and JSON, to be consumed by both United\'s own web and mobile apps as well as those of third-party vendors. • Supporting, maintaining, and enhancing ticketing, flight-search, refunds orchestration, and reference lookup services consumed by or interacting with internal services (e.g. reservation management, payment, ticketing, loyalty, merchandizing, in-flight info, and mobile REST), customer-facing UIs (e.g. United.com and United mobile app), agent-facing customer contact center UI, and external third-party vendors. • Working closely with business associates, framework architects, and enterprise QA to define & prioritize use-cases while ensuring that API implementations are clean, loosely-coupled, performant, and fault-tolerant. • Conducting code-review, pair-programming, and design/knowledge-transfer sessions with junior developers both on-site or via screen-share conferencing to ensure holistic API solutions to complex business asks. • Diagnosing and addressing RESTful and WCF web service issues with the aid of debugging tools such as Fiddler and Visual Studio IntelliSense & stack trace. • Planning and reviewing development work items alongside project managers and coworkers to be prioritized and delivered within bi-monthly sprints supporting release schedules. • Providing status updates and coordinating team efforts at daily scrum stand-ups.
