Lead evidence-based research on school health and nutrition and support the Director of the Research Consortium for School Health and Nutrition with the development of Consortium-led publications and the development of research proposals. ABOUT GILBERT N. MIKI
I am a Research Fellow, working on School Health and Nutrition and currently co-lead a study on the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of school feeding programmes in low and middle income countries. My research sits more broadly at the intersection of Nutrition, Diets and Food Systems. Prior to joining LSHTM as a Research Fellow, I served with various development agencies for over a decade. Within the Research Consortium for School Health and Nutrition at LSHTM, I have served as Co-Chair for Nutrition CoP and currently serves as Co-Chair for the Diet and Food Systems CoP. I am also the Research Consortium’s co-lead for the Rockefeller Foundation Big Bet for Planet-friendly School Meals and a member of the Global School Health and Nutrition Special Interest Group on School Feeding within the UK Nutrition Society. I am also a Working Group Member on the Quality Assurance Framework on Nutrition in Africa. I am a Commonwealth Scholar (2019) and Chevening Scholar (2012).
