About Joe Wood

I’ve spent my life in service. First in uniform, then in defense contracting, and now in the nonprofit world helping those who serve. As Vice President of Strategy & Operations at Boulder Crest Foundation, I lead national efforts to bring Posttraumatic Growth (PTG) to Veterans, first responders, and military families. I’m proud to work alongside a dedicated team delivering life-changing programs like Warrior PATHH and Struggle Well; efforts that are redefining how our nation approaches trauma, healing, and resilience. My role spans strategic planning, operational leadership, large-scale grant development, and cross-sector collaboration. But the heart of my work is simple: helping people who have given everything find their way forward. In addition to my work at Boulder Crest, I’ve also written and published a book that explores the human journey through struggle, growth, and service. This writing is an extension of the mission I live every day: to honor the stories of those who serve and share what’s possible on the other side of hardship.I believe that growth is always possible, leadership begins with service, and purpose is the most powerful force we can offer the world.
