I’m a project manager. I love it. I do it for free (sometimes)One of my first adult jobs as an RMA Customer rep handling very angry people showed me that I like helping very angry people. At the end of the call, I’d have customers chatting with me like we were long-time friends.My order admin position working with OEMS’s and Disti’s, moving product from one warehouse to another, negotiating with our turnkey supplier to make additional shipments to meet our sales numbers taught me the thrill of working against the clock and doing everything possible to make sure we meet deadlines.I landed my first project management job because a perceptive manager thought I would do well in the position. She was right. Working with people + meeting deadlines (and all the action in between) really harmonized with me like chicken adobo and rice.Life is chaos. It’s always a tug of war between priorities. This is where I love to unleash my need to organize, my desire to make the improbable possible, and to celebrate the victories when miracles are made.
