As executive director of BangPop, I have expanded past the success of the first BangPop! Comics & Pop Culture Convention in 2008 to add new events and ideas to the Bangor area\'s calendar. BangPop! followed in 2009 with the SnowCon Central & Northern Maine Gaming Convention in January at the Black Bear Inn & Conference Center in Orono, Lebowski Bowl-a-Rama in July, and the return of the BangPop! Comic Con in September. A slightly different schedule ran in 2010 with the West Market Festival in June as well as SnowCon & BangPop! Comic Con in their annual spots. 2011 was a big year with the addition of the Kid Central Festival in Downtown Bangor on Saturday, May 7, to the regular annual event slate. Planning is under way for 2015 events: SnowConSeven (January 16-18), Kid Central Festival (Saturday, May 2), BangPop! Comic Con (Sept 19 & 20) and Wicked Bangor. Stay tuned.
