About Gianna Borrello
I am a Bachelor of Science candidate in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience (BCN) in the Honors Program at the University of Michigan, pursuing a focused path in reproductive medicine and fertility science.Beginning in April, I will be working as an Andrologist within a clinical IVF laboratory, where I perform semen analyses and support intrauterine insemination (IUI) procedures. In this role, I work directly with human reproductive samples in a high-precision clinical environment, contributing to assisted reproductive outcomes and collaborating closely with physicians and laboratory teams.My academic and professional interests center on the intersection of clinical medicine, research, and innovation in assisted reproductive technologies (ART). I am particularly interested in advancing fertility treatments and improving access to reproductive care through both scientific inquiry and patient-centered practice.My interest in this field is also personal. Having been conceived through assisted reproductive technology, I have a unique appreciation for the science that enables family-building. This perspective continues to shape my commitment to pursuing a career in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) as a future physician-scientist.
