About Gianna Cormier
As a graduate student in the Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Merrimack College, I aim to create a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic space that fosters curiosity, self-exploration, and meaningful personal growth. I approach each client with empathy and openness, supporting individuals as they navigate challenges, gain insight, and work toward lasting, positive change.My clinical experience includes my current work at Authentically You Counseling, where I support clients navigating anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, and life transitions. I have also worked at the Elliot Memory and Mobility Clinic, where I supported older adults and their families experiencing neurocognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease. In addition, I have conducted research on healthcare literacy and provided counseling to individuals coping with chemotherapy-induced alopecia. These experiences have strengthened my dedication to holistic, mind-body care and deepened my understanding of the emotional impact of medical and life transitions.I have a particular interest in how anxiety, self-doubt, and self-limiting beliefs affect personal development and emotional well-being. My work focuses on helping individuals build self-esteem, identify inner strengths, and work toward lasting, meaningful change.My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), always tailored to each individual’s unique needs. I support individuals navigating trauma, reproductive and perinatal mental health, grief, identity development, and life transitions.I am dedicated to providing a compassionate, empowering therapeutic space where individuals can reconnect with their resilience and engage in the transformative process of self-discovery and healing.
