ABOUT GIANLUCA DE NARDI
I am a manager who has been involved in sustainability and organic farming for over 20 years. I currently hold the role of Chief Sustainability Officer at EcorNaturaSì S.p.A. Società Benefit, the leading Italian company in the distribution and retail of organic and biodynamic products. I began my career first as an entrepreneur and then as HR Manager in the EcorNaturaSì group, expanding my responsibilities in the field of training and sustainability over the years. I was the founder of the NaturaSì Academy and the International Academy of Biodynamic Agriculture, the first Italian corporate universities dedicated to the training of organic operators and young farmers, as well as Coltiva I Tuoi Talenti, the first corporate academy open to consumers and society. In addition to my managerial role, I am also active as a trainer, management consultant and independent director, with a focus on the Food & Beverage sector. I have been studying numerous topics related to corporate responsibility and the transformation of traditional economic models for over 25 years, with several scientific and non scientific publications.I created the “5W model” for conscious companies, a business model with an ethical and systemic approach to doing business.Over the years, I have developed an organic vision of the economy that goes beyond anthropocentrism, promoting a relationship between man and nature based on mutual respect and not on a subject-object relationship. This organic vision is also the basis of a new relationship with money which, in order to bring true prosperity to society, should circulate altruistically in a fair balance between purchase, loan and gift, renouncing forms of accumulation that only bring disease to the economic, social and environmental organism. My current research interest is linked to the so-called True Cost of Food, the economic valorization of externalities linked to food production, in particular the so-called ecosystem services generated by regenerative, organic and biodynamic agricultural practices. In short, I consider myself a person committed to combining business, culture and sustainability in a development model oriented towards the common good.
