ABOUT GIANCARLO GHISLANZONI

Giancarlo worked as a consultant for 33 years at McKinsey & Company, until he reached the retiring deadline at 60 on Oct 2020 and was designated Senior Partner Emeritus.Over the years he has served a number of enterprises across multiple industries in major transformations and in McKinsey he is considered an expert in change management processes (turnarounds, integrations, globalisation), in complex environments and in designing and realizing large-scale operational improvement programs. In 20••••20 Giancarlo has been as a member of the Global Clientele Council, a group of 25 McKinsey senior client leaders who represent and mobilize the Firm in high priority client situations.From 2011 to 2016 he was the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) leader of the McKinsey Advanced Industries Sector, including Aerospace & Defence, Automotive & Assembly, Machinery & Plant Engineering and Industrial Electronics industries.Prior to this service, he led for six years the McKinsey Organization Practice in EMEA (20••••10, Organization Design, Organizational Behaviour, Performance Transformations, Merger Management), and has been a member of the global leadership teams of the Energy and the Transportation Sectors.He led at global level the development and dissemination of the McKinsey know-how (20••••05) in Performance Transformations.Giancarlo holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Genoa and a Master in Business Administration at INSEAD. Born in 1960, married, he has two sons and a daughter; former rally car racer, he is arenowned competitive sailor and a passionate skier.
