I founded Wake Forest Young Professionals Organization with my friend Hieu Tran because we noticed that there was a lack of student-led accessible preprofessional development on campus. Wake Forest has an amazing Office of Personal and Career Development. However, there is a disconnect between the students, especially first years, and the OPCD itself. My vision for our organization is to develop first-year students professionally through resume building, interview prep, network development, and employer engagement. We plan on using resources such as the OPCD, WFU Business School, and Alumni connections to develop our members. We currently have over 30 freshmen in our organization and plan on expanding via the recruitment of new first years annually. We hope that our current members can also develop into mentors for incoming students. By my senior year, Hieu and I will have led the expansion of WFU YPO into an organization of over 120 members and a pillar within the university.
