About Gabriella Gini-Ordoñez

Social justice is the foundation of my teaching and work. As an educator, I balance equity of voice, rigor of learning, and targeted instruction and support, such as writing workshops for students and co-teaching and modeling/observation cycles with adult learners. I am driven by creating opportunities for students to argue for what they believe with strong evidence and opportunities for adults to hone their teaching craft. As an educator some of my favorite topics are math learning progressions, project-based learning, creating joy within lessons, high interest-based topics, writing workshops, and habits of discussion. Teacher value and support is at the heart of education. Planning and facilitating our STEAM teams, I currently support and impact over half of our teaching staff at Caliber Beta; Science, Math, and Electives. In the past I have co-lead and facilitated the Academy of Urban School Leadership Network (AUSL)\'s Science PLC reaching about 20 school science departments. Working alongside and coaching teachers in Morogoro, Tanzania, I learned the power of vulnerability, listening, and humility in the coaching process. Before teaching, I worked in the startup world in San Francisco doing digital marketing for a company optimizing use drones in mining, construction, and beyond.
