Working in a data delivery system, I am responsible in developing REST APIs in Java/Spring and setting up ETL pipelines to ingest and transform big data using Apache Spark and Hadoop. Responsibilities include: • Developing APIs for automating dataset creation, pipeline metadata development and initiating spark jobs in a microservice environment. • Modeling and developed datasets used as schema and metadata to ingest (transform and load) data between source and consumption platforms using Restful APIs. • Developing ETL pipelines to process data. This includes developing code to transform and process data using Spark and Hadoop frameworks, loading, and maintaining data in HDFS and Hive, and providing data to users. • Developing java codes (applications) to transform data in the Hadoop environment to implement business logic and requirements. • Provisioning data to Teradata (a data warehousing system used as data consumption platforms for business users), applying business logic and transformation using java code. This requires working to meet data modeling and quality requirements. • Monitoring CI/CD deployments of metadata, code and daily batch jobs using Jules (Jenkins) and Control-m scheduler.
