ABOUT GERTRUDE E. C.

I am passionately curious about the causal relationships between factors and in particular, their impact on policy-making to address global developmental issues. The desire to be equipped with the technical models and theories to effectively contemplate them motivated me to pursue a Master\'s degree in the Master of Science in Economics (Econometrics and Quantitative Economics) at the Singapore Management University. I started off my career at Deloitte’s Economics Advisory team, as an Economic Analyst and Input-Output (IO) Modeller. I have undertaken economic contribution studies, input-output modelling engagements, and conducting primary research, from administering surveys to assisting consultations with industry stakeholders to formulate strategies for public sector clients. After three fruitful years, I have decided to take on a new challenge and embark on a journey at the Ministry of Trade and Industry in the Programme Evaluation Unit (Economics Division). I started this journey in the summer of 2023 and I am excited and grateful for this opportunity to work with and learn from a team of inspirational economists, which I am certain will enable me to take strides in my career. I am currently on a career break to explore career options in the EU region. An outgoing individual with strong interpersonal skills, who adapts well to changes, I am a dedicated and detail-oriented team player, with a proven track record of delivering quality results in a fast-paced environment. Always ready to take on new challenges and hone new skills!
