Gerasimos is a Chartered Engineer (CEng UK-SPEC – IET) specialising in Power System Engineering spanning across power system design, modelling and verification in transmission, distribution networks and innovation projects. He has led the technical delivery of various high-profile engineering projects across different regions in the world including UK, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Australia, Indonesia, Latin America. Gerasimos specialises in power system modelling and analysis. He has extensive experience in leading the design and network connection studies for renewable projects, industrial sites, data centers and distribution network. Gerasimos is experienced in insulation coordination, arc-flash, grid compliance, high level switchgear specification (e.g. transformers, circuit breakers, busbars etc.), motor connections, transformer replacements, load shedding schemes, earthing studies, generator installations, hybrid systems with batteries/renewables and used load flow analysis, short-circuit, motor starting, transient (EMT) and stability studies and protection coordination/settings specification. He is also involved in various innovation projects such as Electricity North West’s “Respond Project”, a Low Carbon Network Fund (LCNF) Tier 2 project (UK).Gerasimos is experienced providing asset management services for wind farms, leading a team of Site Service Coordinators across UK and Ireland, supporting them technically on daily basis on any wind turbine fault. Dealt with Operation and Maintenance on wind farm contracts, HV contractors, habitat management plans, Health and Safety site compliance, Control Centre (24/7) ensuring the Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR) are followed, wind farm/turbine inspections. Delivered numerous presentations to various academic institutions, e.g. PhD researchers at the University of Sheffield – UK (Centre for Doctoral Training) presentation on Energy Storage systems and their potential benefits to electricity networks with focus on the UK, MSc candidates at the University of Edinburgh - UK presentation on Wind Energy. He is honoured by the University of Edinburgh to be featured in its MSc Electrical Power Engineering brochure since 2018 as an alumnus’ achievement, being shown on top of a wind turbine in England and performing an annual technical inspection.Gerasimos is fully conversant with the latest power system analysis software including ETAP, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, SKM Power Tools, CDEGS, IPSA.
