I am an Associate Safety Engineer at Valero, a leading energy company. I graduated with a Bachelor\'s degree in Public Health with Emphasis in Environmental and Occupational Health from Brigham Young University in 2021. In my current role, I ensure the safety of employees, contractors, and communities by implementing effective safety programs, policies, and procedures. I identify hazards, propose corrective actions, and ensure compliance with regulations through inspections and audits. I investigate incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and develop prevention strategies. I track safety metrics, monitor performance, and drive improvement. I lead training sessions, foster a safety culture, and collaborate on projects, integrating safety considerations. As a Valero Safety Engineer, I am dedicated to making a positive impact and ensuring the well-being of all. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as I have also worked as a Health Promotion Director and a Health Educator at Centro Hispano, a nonprofit organization that serves the Latinx community. There, I coordinated communications, provided guidance, and developed educational campaigns and programs to promote healthy habits and environments. I am passionate about public health, safety, and social justice, and I seek to continuously learn and grow in my field.
