About Gerardo Blanco

Gerardo Blanco is Associate Professor and Academic Director of the Center for International Higher Education at Boston College. A past Fulbright Specialist and adviser for global programs and initiatives at the American Council on Education, he serves on the advisory board of the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (OUI-IOHE). He is the Editor of the Journal of Studies in International Education, coordinating editor for Higher Education, and consulting editor for Change: The Magazine of Higher Learning. His research explores the intersections of quality and internationalization in higher education. An interdisciplinary scholar, his research has been published in top international journals in the fields of Higher Education and Comparative Education. He has received several research awards from the Comparative & International Education, and the Association for the Study of Higher Education. He has been a visiting expert at Shaanxi Normal University (China) and at the University of Kassel (Germany). He was an Erasmus+ fellow at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (Poland). He earned his Ed.D. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, M.Ed. in Higher Education from the University of Maine, and his bachelor\'s from the Universidad de las Américas, Puebla (Mexico).
