Numericana is a non-profit educational website centered on Mathematics. It focuses on the mathematical aspects of Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and other sciences. Leading branches of pure mathematics (Number Theory, Set Theory, etc.) are also introduced and there are sections on scientific linguistics, mathematical recreations and the mathematics of games. The site has helped initiate many enthusiastic students and scholars, of all ages, to various popular or obscure scientific topics (at the high-school, undergraduate, graduate, continuing education and research levels). Modern developments are always presented in the context of the relevant basic scientific knowledge. About two new articles are published every week. As of June 2015, more than 1750 original articles, published since March 19, are being maintained and is uniquely noted for its extensive use of heraldry to visually identify the contributions of major scientists, past and present. This pedagogical practice, which started in 2004, has turned Numericana into the leading clearinghouse for scientific heraldry.
