6 East Post/Step-Down ICU is a 38 bed unit split between Step-down, Post-cardio-thoracic surgery, Cardiac Cath lab, Medical Surgical, and Telemetry. I provide care to an incredibly diverse patient population in the New York-New Jersey metropolitan area. With a varied array of complex health issues and unique patient experiences, I am critically informed to provide robust patient care and consistently look to strengthen my nursing acumen.Step-down patient ratios are 1:4, and a typical night for telemetry is 1:6. Experienced in acute and chronic heart failure, respiratory failure, post-surgical intervention, end-of-life care, pulmonary embolism, altered mental status, withdrawal care. I have trained technicians and nurses in accurate interpretation of Telemetry monitoring.
