Working to onboard, maintain and automate Corporate Actions for Fixed Income by building out robust data pipelines using fundamental data engineering principles. I cover data quality within our datasets with a focus on Accuracy, Timeliness and Coverage. I work from design to implementation driving alignment between Data, Product and Engineering teams. ABOUT GERARD GALLAGHER
I am part of the Fixed Income Corporate Actions (Corporate Bonds) Data team at Bloomberg. I have experience in working across many teams building alignment. At Quantexa, I was responsible for building bespoke solutions based on client engagement and requirements, ensuring the solution being built really answered the clients needs. At Bloomberg I work closely with Engineering and Product to ensure the data we collect and expose is fit for purpose and meets the high standards clients expect. I enjoy technical challenges but that needs to be accompanied with a sense of purpose and mission to build products that our clients need. At Quantexa my main technologies included Scala, Spark, Elasticsearch, Git/Github, Bash. Further to our core tech, I have experience working with CICD tools (K8s, Docker, Jenkins), Microservices (Scala, Spring Boot), REST APIs, Kafka for data streaming, testing tools (Gatling, Postman, JUnit), exposure to Typelevel libraries (Cats Effect).
