Since joining Kroll, I\'ve had the opportunity to work on several exciting projects. The first was a Python project requiring highly parallelized computations that wasn\'t really possible with Python due to the GIL issue. I was able to achieve some great parallelization and speed improvements using the multi-processing libraries reducing the total compute time from 612 seconds down to 39 seconds per Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The second major project I was assigned to was the validation of a large scale ML python project that had me doing data normalization validation across about 100 data inputs. Then in Jan 2023, I was assigned to the development of the new Kroll Valuation Portal (https://pcm-prod.kroll.com). The project had some insane expectations like getting to production in 6 months, which we did. I was responsible for the build out and configuration and release of our product to all of our 4 primary environments dev/qa/UAT/prod. At this point a more appropriate title would be product devops/release manager since that is largely what I\'m doing most days is slinging kubectl. Recently I was able to convince my manager to have us walk away from an insane design where all configuration was in ADO libraries which forced us to rebuild the product just for a configuration change. My design had us migrate all production configuration to Kubernetes configmaps and opaque secrets and that\'s worked out well. Another system improvement I made was convincing us to drop the Azure Redis service and simply use Redis containers locally inside our namespace, that not only saved us money but our Redis call times were reduced by 40+%. My current project is a delivering a namespace isolated blue/green design that will offer a faster product delivery time and most importantly stress-free systemic rollbacks if there is an issue.
