About Geraldo Reid

Growing up in Jamaica, I was always fascinated with different broadcasting entities that existed at the time. There were only two mainstream stations: TVJ which stands for Television Jamaica and CVM which was owned by a separate media group. I was well in tune with how news was broadcasted but first I had to be interested in the stories. That led to a domino effect of interest in how stories are told. ​ As I migrated to the United States, I watched news channels such as ABC, CNN, and CBS across the board as my interest in storytelling and events was still present. Yet, as I grew my love for sports, my eyes and ears fell on how sports, specifically soccer, were told and who was allowed to have an opinion. I\'ve always admired some commentators and pundits that I believe are worth listening to, as they give the game a voice to remember. A mantra that I always say to myself and others is that my knowledge is too deep in soccer not to take advantage of it to some capacity. Therefore, pursuing a master\'s degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a concentration in sports will aid in landing a career in the soccer industry.
