ABOUT GERALDINE SMITH
I have been working in Health and Social Care for over 20 years, both in the NHS and Social Services. I have also worked for private services as well as public health and local government. I have been specifically working in the field of Autism / Neurodiversity and Learning Disability, and also have experience in Acute Adolescent Mental Heath, Acute Learning Disability Mental health alongside more community based roles. For over 8 years I worked as Autism Practice Lead for a Local Council implementing the National and Local Autism Strategy, supporting staff in making reasonable adjustments for our residents and implementing positive change. For the past year I have worked in Tech Enabled Care - offering service consultation on implementing TEC across LD / MH services to improve quality and reduce restrictions. I am a qualified Learning Disability Nurse.
