As a Development Intern supporting the West Region team at Leeward Renewable Energy, I contribute to the advancement of utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects across multiple stages of development. My work includes assisting with site due diligence, land and permitting research, interconnection strategy, and stakeholder coordination.I’m gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle, from early-stage feasibility analysis to late-stage permitting and pre-construction planning. This includes working with GIS tools, reviewing environmental and regulatory requirements, supporting community outreach efforts, and tracking project milestones.Through this role, I’m deepening my understanding of renewable energy markets, state and federal permitting processes, and the technical, legal, and environmental considerations behind project development in the Western U.S.
