ABOUT GERALD HUESKEN
Many of my co-workers have called me an \"old soul in a young teacher\'s body\". I put a heavy emphasis in my classroom on original thought, responsibility, discipline, and communication. While I don\'t currently teach an AP class, I do put a big emphasis in my classroom on primary documents and drawing original conclusions from them through writing. I\'m a project and hands-on oriented teacher; I like to find new and creative ways to engage my students in the student and enjoyment of history. I also like incorporating Internet and web-based activities into my lessons.I continue to remain open-minded about my profession. I don\'t believe that I have learned everything there is to know about teaching. There is always more to learn about my craft, my passion for history, and this profession called teaching. I remain humble in the presents of my mentors and veteran teachers, hoping to pick up some new lesson or piece of classroom wisdom they have to offer.I currently teach 11th Grade World History, 11th Grade Honors World History, and 12th Grade Government & Economics. I have also taught classes in Middle School / High School World Cultures, 20th Century American History and Honors 20th Century American History, 18th & 19th Century US History, and Pennsylvania History & Government.
