About Georit Kozhumadassary
I am a Holistic Wellness, Dance Movement, and Yoga Therapy Specialist with over 10 years of interdisciplinary experience working across government institutions, correctional systems, education, and international academic platforms. I currently serve as Director of NachoG Welfare Foundation and as an Expressive Arts Therapist for the Home Department (India).My professional journey includes several national and international firsts—being the first male certified DMT practitioner (2016) and the first male arts-based therapist to work across multiple prisons in Mumbai and across India. I have contributed extensively to trauma healing, psychosocial rehabilitation, neurological movement recovery, and arts-based institutional care.In 2018, I became the first male professional globally to complete Level 3 of an Indo–US Dance Movement Therapy and Trauma Healing & Resilience program, and I now contribute to its international curriculum development team. In 2025, I was selected for an International Student Exchange Programme between India and the USA and served as a panelist at a national DMT summit in Lucknow.Currently, I am developing a national wellness curriculum for the Government of India, integrating Dance Movement Therapy and Yoga to create inclusive, scalable, and preventive mental–physical health frameworks.My work integrates yogic, tantric, indigenous, and temple arts traditions with contemporary therapeutic science, always grounded in ethics, cultural sensitivity, and evidence-informed practice.
