ABOUT GEORGIOS MARKOPOULOS
Georgios has over 20 years of experience in the Mining & Metals industry carrying out process design & technology management, due diligence reviews and engineering services for a wide range of metallurgical facilities, particularly nickel, copper, zinc and platinum group metals. His experience includes process definition and optimization, debottlenecking, flowsheet development, field surveys, conceptual & feasibility engineering studies, equipment design, cost estimating, project management & commissioning. Georgios has also considerable site experience in operating, startup, commissioning and reviewing furnaces across various industries and countries i.e. South Africa, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Greece. His additional long exposure in plant operation and site management compliments his solid engineering skills. Given his solid engineering background and financial skills, he has been leading the Capital allocation process on a group & business units level optimizing the investment selection, development process and the N.P.V. value of both the business units and of the group. His focus on Risk management and V@R methodology allowed for an improved understanding of investments associated risks and risk mitigation strategies.
