ABOUT GEORGINA WOOLHEATER

At an early age, I’ve love to make and craft things. More specifically, I love to sew and create something out of nothing. My love started with a simple sewing lesson from my mom to make costumes each year for Halloween and school shows. My love became an ambition to learn new skills and enhance my talent. Simple sewing became advance couture and buying premade patterns transformed to teaching myself to pattern draft. In high school, I discovered that my talent could become a career. I packed up and moved to Los Angeles and the rest was history. I’ve worked fashion shows starting as a simple dresser and rising to backstage director. I’ve been apart of the daily costuming needs behind the scenes at Disneyland. I join the corporate fashion world in coordinating samples at BCBGMaxaria and was promoted into a raw material development role. My mindset changed from the end product to the very beginning. I learned everything I could about fabric and trim development and built a huge amount of knowledge of what fabric to use, how it can be used, and why it didn’t work for a style. I continued to move my knowledge into a more specific field of athleisure at Alo Yoga. I managed all fabric and trims development, grew the sourcing strategy, and built processes for product integrity. I moved to Beyond Yoga into a product development management position with leading a full team and rekindled my love of garment construction. In my current role, I’m constantly faced with problem solving and presenting resolutions for the design team to achieve their style’s design intent. My favorite part of my role as a manager is sharing my knowledge of raw materials and garment construction. I take time to educate my team members to learn from my knowledge, ask questions, and help motivate them in their roles. I’ve built up a huge list of skills and knowledge for my first quarter of my lifetime. I’m look for new opportunities to continue to grow and share it. Can I share it with you?
