I currently serve as the assistant director for Nevada Humanities, an independent non-profit organization that serves as Nevada\'s affiliate to the National Endowment for the Humanities. I am also the program director for the Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl—the largest literary festival in northern Nevada with 100+ authors/panelists in 40+ events in one day.I am an experienced educator and non-profit administrator focusing on public humanities. I am also a composer who works with placemaking, theater, and community-based projects. I draw from my experience as an assistant/associate professor and my experience as a co-founder, co-artistic director, and non-profit administrator to: Create interactive experiences for students and audiences that inspire. Communicate effectively to students, faculty, audiences, donors, and grantmakers. Collaborate seamlessly with diverse stakeholders and navigate complex workflows. Lead assessment projects by analyzing evidence and guiding change. Mentor colleagues and co-create solutions. Apply research-based learner-centered pedagogy in teaching and training.I have secured grants at local, state, and national levels, including a US$61k grant for an oral history project from the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong, where I will lead a team to create new app-based resources and immersive experiences that highlight stories from Hong Kong\'s ethnic minority communities. As an active composer, I create community-centered works that highlight the voices of minoritized communities.
