Rollercoaster!\" This would be my answer if I am ever asked to describe my career from the time I entered into the workforce until now with one word. In high school, I was recruited to play football for the University of Oklahoma. A miscommunication between myself and the guidance counselor kept me from obtaining an athletic scholarship. However, I was optimistic. I saw this as an opportunity to serve God on a two-year mission of teaching and service. Upon my return from my mission, the University of Oklahoma won the National Championship under the direction of Bob Stoops. Of course, it occurred to me that I would have been on this winning team but I did not allow this to get me down. I went to Rick\'s College in Rexburg, Idaho and walked on to the football team in the spring of Summer came and I returned home for the break and met a girl. I did not return to play in what would have been my first college season. Then a few months later we broke-up. I decided to enter the workforce and attend Tulsa Community College (TCC). I delivered flowers for a neighbor who owned a flower shop. Looking back I have never received so much satisfaction in a job than to see the reaction of someone receiving flowers. During this time I met Rebecca and knew I was going to marry her! Realizing I needed to earn more money, I took a position offered to me by a local family-owned company, Auto Panels Plus. I started as a delivery driver and sales representative delivering a route through Bixby, Muskogee and McAlester, Oklahoma and all the small towns in between. I increased sales from to per month by taking the time to get to know my customers and showing that I really cared for them. With a good income and a steady paycheck, I decided to not continue my education at TCC, shortly after I proposed to and married the love of my life! My opportunities grew as the company grew. The owners wanted me to learn the ins and outs of the business so they asked me to work in the warehouse for six months before promoting me to the office manager. In this position, I learned inside sales, customer relations, payroll, bookkeeping, AP/AR, and tax filing. In my mind I was living the American dream, the company was doing well and was on the verge of greatness, Rebecca and I were happily married and we just bought our first home, but unknowingly my rollercoaster was about to take its first major plunge.
