Summary: Delivery of tools that enable detection of and enforcement against safety harms on WhatsApp including Child Sexual Exploitation, Terrorism and Human Trafficking. Leading a team of 11 engineers to deliver a more scalable and sustainable approach to tackling safety harms.Key Technologies: Hack/PHP; Python; DataSwarm (data pipeline framework)Key Accomplishments: Partnered with Child Safety Product Management to establish a product roadmap that is both specific and achievable. Handover of Child Safety leadership to another engineer in the team. Led the engineering team to extend coverage of existing safety harms to the new WhatsApp Communities product. Built tools to enable investigation of new harms on WhatsApp Communities. Mobilised the ‘Cross Harms’ workstream to deliver components that will enable more scalable approaches to covering further safety harms efficiently. Defined the long-term strategy and product roadmap. Established cross functional working group with partners in engineering and operations. Built a prototype for a new review technique to measure its impact on precision and cost.
