George joined Deloitte in June 2002 when Deloitte acquired Andersen in Canada. Upon joining Deloitte George continued to work with wholesale capital markets clients and also began to focus more time working with institutional money managers and alternative investment funds. George led Deloitte’s National Investment Practice for 5 years before moving from the role in September 2018.George’s experience while at Deloitte includes helping clients with the following:• Performed a pre-readiness review for an institutional investor that was about to launch an alternative investment platform to assess readiness of finance, operations and risk management functions.• Worked with two large institutional managers to define accounting requirements for their implementation of SimCorp Dimension.• Completed assurance engagements for two large institutional managers focusing on investment selection processes, finance and operating processes and risk management processes to assist them in complying with regulatory requirements. • Developed a strategic plan for a large institutional investment manager for the private investments area which focused on resourcing, process and technology.• Worked with a large financial institution to help them evaluate their risk management processes and policies for credit, interest rate and liquidity risk.
