Directed three consecutive Exercise 24 (X24) multi-hazard/multi-disciplinary social media simulations, from 2010 to 2012, involved over unique participants from over 92 nations, and the number of national, international and transnational partners continued to expand. X24\'s purpose was the compilation, analysis and dissemination of information derived from social media in a manner that supports the safety and security of the lines and flows of people, goods and ideas. X24 is also a proven opportunity space for the creation of relationships that support this endeavor. The social networks engaged were able to transition from simulations to actual events.
