About George Spinelli
On a daily basis, I consult with business owners to help them take the mystery out of their credit card processing. Discussions with merchants include topics such EMV, virtual terminals, chip cards, PCI compliance, pricing structures, rates, e-commerce, etc.The primary concern for the business owner who relies on credit cards for payment is the cost of the processing. A common issue is understanding monthly credit card statements. These statements consist of pages & pages of items and associated costs, which are very confusing. Very few merchants have a clear understanding of what they are actually paying for their credit card processing service. In most occasions, I review their statements with them answering questions and clarifying the jumble of numbers.A very large percentage of merchants are paying too much for their processing. I have found that when a business owner asks themselves, “Am I overpaying for my processing?” They usually are and I enjoy taking the time to explain hidden costs, surcharges, the different pricing structures and Interchange rates.With two degrees in mathematics, high school & college teaching experience and a career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, I am regarded as a patient, analytical person. I have taken these skills to the world of credit card processing where I have helped nearly a thousand merchants to decipher their statements and answer their questions.
