About George Phillips
I have clinical expertise in general pediatrics, as well as pediatric and adult sports medicine. My current clinical work focuses on adolescent primary care, particularly reproductive health services. Outside of my clinical practices, I actively participate in child health advocacy and policy development. Through local, state, and national organizations, I have worked on several initiatives promoting early childhood development, access for children to quality healthcare, and training the next generation of pediatricians to be effective advocates in their own communities. My current interests include promoting personal and leadership development strategies for early and midcareer professionals. As a graduate of the 2007 Pediatric Leadership Alliance and the 2010 APA-APPD Leadership Workshop, I have used skills gained to facilitate small strategic planning sessions, mentor medical students and residents, and coach junior faculty toward their goals. My family and I are also avid supporters of the fight against childhood cancers. I have had numerous public speaking opportunities to share our own experience with my son\'s battle against leukemia to motivate and inspire others. I would welcome opportunities to work with individuals and organizations on personal/leadership development through facilitation, coaching, and motivational speaking.Specialties: Clinical care - pediatrics, sports medicine Child health policy and advocacy Career mentoring, leadership development Public speaking
