ABOUT GEORGE PERRY
I’m a Professional Doctorate (Stage 2) Sport Psychologist in Training (SPiT) at Liverpool John Moores University, currently working towards BPS Chartered status and HCPC registration - under supervision of Dr Martin Eubank and Dr Nicholas Wadsworth.I have a deep passion for helping athletes become the best possible version of themselves and as such utilise a holistic approach, aiming to develop them as both a performer and a person. Equally, I am also passionate about working strategically and organisationally to develop psychologically safe & high performance environments helping, both, players and staff to thrive.Additionally, I am currently conducting a systematic literature review investigating the implementation of athlete leadership development programmes within elite sport teams - enabling me to utilise the findings within my own applied practice. My previous research project investigated the views of senior strategic stakeholders, at Premier League & Championship football clubs, to gain an explicit insight into what they perceive makes a sport psychologist successful, at an elite football club at 1st team level.
