ABOUT GEORGE PAVLIS

George is a business-oriented risk professional with a passion for enabling organizations to make informed business decisions. As a Director within RSM, he leads a variety of Appointed Actuary and risk management engagements for self-insured organizations, reciprocals, insurance brokerage firms and insurance companies. He is also responsible for providing actuarial consulting services to a provincial regulator in Canada in supporting the supervision of all P&C insurance companies, reciprocals and captives under their regulation. Prior to joining RSM, George led a diverse team of actuaries and non-actuaries in providing actuarial, reinsurance and insurance brokerage and risk advisory services to global organizations regarding their insurance and risk financing needs. George led the reserving and pricing process for excess liability insurance risks and was actively involved in designing complex reinsurance programs insuring worldwide property and liability risk exposures. His consulting experience also includes pricing, premium allocation, capital modeling, self-insurance analysis, as well as recommendations on various areas of insurance and underwriting risk at the senior management and Board levels of reciprocals and captive insurance companies. George is active in volunteering within the actuarial community and is currently a member of the CIA’s Committee on Risk Management and Capital Requirements.
