Developed a multi-platform desktop application under tech accelerator OS Labs (opensourcelabs.io) to visualize metrics and messages of client Kafka clusters using a Node.js backend powered by Electron‣ Used React Router for client-side rendering, creating a performant UX‣ Implemented Plotly.js to render SVGs in order to graph Prometheus metrics and allow users to interact with and export graphs and metrics‣ Styled frontend GUI in a responsive and spacious manner to improve accessibility for end users who are hard-of-sight using custom SCSS for better organization and modularization with React UI framework Bulma‣ Used Docker to containerize a sample application as well as Kafka cluster for scalability, portability, and effective resource management as well as ease of deployment to any environment to in order to more easily work across different environments‣ Refactored application to use Prometheus instead of StatD, Graphite, and ELK for its operational narrowness, scalable data collection, light-weight resource usage, high availability, and low rate of failure, and its native powerful querying language‣ Ensured application functionality by making unit tests using Jest/Enzyme and end-point testing using Supertest in order to shorten debugging time while pushing feature updates to follow CI/CD practices‣ Acted as scrum master following agile practices, creating and assigning efficiently modularized Trello tasks shortening and better organizing the development cycles and took charge of the resolution of progress blockers with development teams
