ABOUT GEORGE JENKINS
I am a Finance Director with extensive experience of working with wide ranging teams and Boards, responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies within blue-chip manufacturing and retail organizations. I held country and Regional FD roles in Whirlpool before then leading a major Finance change programme across the entire European Finance organisation and heading the EMEA Shared Services team for Whirlpool Europe. I decided to move from Whirlpool in September 2014 to take the FD position at the Duke of Edinburgh\'s Award.(The Duke of Edinburgh\'s Award is a youth charity that offers the world\'s leading achievement award for young people). After three successful years at the DofE I moved to Blind Veterans,(formerly St Dunstan\'s), a larger charity with a broader remit, and after two enjoyable years there I moved to Prostate Cancer UK as Director of Resources and after almost three successful years moved to a CFO role at NESCOT, a large Further and Higher Education college. I am now the FD for the charity Centre for Ageing Better.Prior to joining Whirlpool I worked for WHSmith from 1996 to 2003 in three different Finance roles (VP Finance, Reporting Controller & Commercial Controller). Prior to that, from 1990 to 1996, I worked for Tesco in four different Finance roles (Capital Planning and Investment Appraisal Manager, Capital Accountant, Retail Accountant and Commercial Accountant).I started my Finance career at Kodak Ltd and spent two years from 1988 to 1990 in two different roles (Manufacturing Analyst and New Venture Accountant) and during this time I became CIMA qualified.I have a 2:1 Business Studies degree from Oxford Brookes University, completed from 1984 to 1988.
