The MSY Wind Surf is the world’s largest sailing yacht, a 187-metre, five-masted luxury vessel carrying approx. 310 guests and 200 crew. She combines traditional sail power with state-of-the-art navigation, safety, and environmental systems.• Performed Watchkeeping duties on the bridge for almost 6 months, maintaining situational awareness, traffic monitoring, and adherence to COLREGs. Became a key member of the team performing all pre arrival and departure checks, performance monitoring, and regularly undertaking every BRM role.• Trained in safe navigation and voyage planning in compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL and company SEMS, ensuring safe passage through international waters whilst managing stability requirments. Completed cruise-length passage plans for training purposes using the full suite of publications and company documention.• Conducted ship handling and manoeuvres under supervision, including berthing, anchoring, and confined-water operations.• Carried out all scheduled FFE (Firefighting Equipment) and LSA (Life-Saving Appliances) SMS tasks, ensuring safety compliance. Participated in emergency drills, safety checks, and safety management audits - including observing onboard MARPOL, ISM, Flag State, inspections. • Aided with bridge documentation and recordkeeping, ensuring full compliance with ISM Code, Flag State, and company SMS requirements.• Gained practical experience with emergency drills, safety systems testing, and crew response coordination.
