As the Sergeant of the Major Case Unit, it is my responsibility to oversee the follow up investigation of robberies, homicides, sex offenses, missing persons, suspicious deaths, violent crimes, domestic violence, cold cases, and other persons related crimes that occur within Flagler County, Florida. Within the Major Case Unit are also several smaller specialized units, to include Sex Offender, Domestic Violence, and Cold Case. Part of my role as the Sergeant of the Major Case Unit is to serve as the spokesperson regarding Major Cases when requested to do so by the Sheriff. I have discussed numerous investigations with local TV stations (FOX 35, WESH 2, CBS 6, WFTV 9) and I have been featured internationally on “Court TV Live”, “The Murder Tapes”, “PD True”, “Murder Uncut”, and “Killers Caught on Camera”, among others. Prior to being the Major Case Unit Sergeant, I was the General Assignment/Property Crimes unit Sergeant for approximately one year. During that time I was responsible for supervising all property crime related investigations within Flagler County. I served as the General Assignment/Property Crimes Sergeant from January 2021 - December 2021.

ABOUT GEORGE HRISTAKOPOULOS
My name is George Hristakopoulos and I am a full time law enforcement officer with the Flagler County Sheriff\'s Office. I am currently assigned as a Detective Sergeant within the Major Case Unit. I began my law enforcement career in 2004 when I attended and successfully completed the Daytona State College Basic Law Enforcement Academy. In 2005 after passing my state law enforcement examination, I was offered and accepted a full time job as an Executive Protection Agent for Seventrees Corporation (now Andrews International) a world renowned executive protection agency. After approximately one full year at Seventrees, I was offered and accepted a full time law enforcement officer position at the Bunnell Police Department in Flagler County. I worked for the Bunnell Police Department for nearly seven years, in numerous capacities, to include, field training officer, HIDTA liaison, background investigator, patrol supervisor, head of internal affairs. In July of 2013 I was offered and accepted a full time law enforcement officer position as a Deputy Sheriff for the Flagler County Sheriff\'s Office. In my time as a Deputy Sheriff, I have served as a field training officer, new hire instructor, gang intelligence, major case Detective, major case Detective Corporal, General Assignment Detective Sergeant, and Major Case Unit Detective Sergeant.
