Leading avionics team of 20+ to develop and test a liquid fuel rocket striving to be the first collegiate team to reach space• Spending 10+ hours every weekend supporting cold flow and water flow valve qualifications, engine hot fires, and static fires• Designed engine controller PCB that actuates valves and sends sensor data processed by ADCs to a BeagleBone via SPI• Wrote Rust based engine controller software that handles networking for receiving commands from & sending data to the flight computer, and uses a state machine that prevents the need for manual software restarts after aborts & network drops• Developed Rust based ADC driver to streamline software development for all PCBs that collect sensor data• Programmed battery management system in Rust to control power distribution throughout the rocket’s avionics system• Created SITL that models engine controller processes to easily test new custom flight computer commands• Supported sensing for high temperatures and transient responses on engine test stand by designing a thermocouple PCB
