ABOUT GEORGE EMERY
I am an experienced Associate at Kennedys within the Crime and Regulatory Team. I act for and advise companies and individuals subject to regulatory investigations and prosecutions bought by the Health and Safety Executive, the police, local authorities, the Environment Agency and fire services. I am experienced in acting for clients in health and safety and environmental investigations and prosecutions, often of a complex and high profile nature. I regularly appear on behalf of clients in the Coroners Courts in Article 2 and non-Article 2 inquests. I represent clients in interviews under caution for a range of offences, including gross negligence manslaughter, and I regularly prepare written representations in lieu of attendance at interview under caution. I also frequently advise clients in respect of responding to enforcement notices issued by regulators. I advise and support clients from the outset of an investigation from initial crisis management stage, through to sentencing following conviction. I have been involved in numerous complex high-profile manslaughter and health and safety trials in the Crown Court.
