ABOUT GEORGE BEVAN

Full Stack Product Design Lead. 10+ Years experience. I design products and services that treat their users with respect; as humans. I practice inclusive & accessible design within my work, not as an after thought or nice-to-have. I take ideas to solutions that can be actually realised. I adapt, I\'m pragmatic, I get things done. Comfortable leading in the following areas:• Research planning & synthesis; active listening, powerful questions and enduring curiosity• Design Sprints; take an idea, decide & test in just a few days to jump start an initiative and introduce the voice of the customer • Accessible & inclusive Design; implementing solutions that are mindful of a customers context, be that permanent, situational or temporary. • Interaction Design & UI; creating a solution to the problem that works well enough to go out into the world and be useful.• Coaching & Mentorship for Designers; setting them up for success.• Animation; where appropriate, bringing things to life to evoke an intended feeling.Drawing on my experience of the best of agency life in at ustwo (recently recognised as one of the best places to work by it’s peers), small start-ups and large corporates, I feel I have a rounded view of product design from many different perspectives. My orientation to detail allows me to think pragmatically to turn big ideas into working products that people actually want. Everything from typography to animation, even the wording of a backlog item or task; it all contributes to the quality of the resulting solution. My pragmatism allows me to do a good job whilst shipping actual things.Looking to the future, I want to contribute to a world where AI (and all its outputs) are integrated tastefully into products / services / creative to the benefit of the world. What I don’t want to see is it being used everywhere without reference, without clarity on how it has been applied and why. And I certainly don’t want to see it over-rule good taste. That is a very real danger these days.Portfolio V1 on & type=design & node-id=29-14 & viewport=-6195%2C562%2C0.41 & t=j1ifKcN3cCWxKV2n-8 & scaling=min-zoom & starting-point-node-id=29%3A14 & hide-ui=1
