ABOUT GEORGE APPIAH KUBI
George Appiah Kubi is a highly motivated, and results-oriented person who currently works at Entrada Therapeutics. At Entrada, he is part of the Process Chemistry Group where he leads the downstream aspect of phosphorodiamidate morpholino oligomer (PMO) and PMO conjugates production and process development. Prior to Entrada, he was at NIDDK-NIH as a postdoctoral research fellow. He worked on Peptide Nucleic Acid (PNA) backbone modification to improve its binding to target DNAs for diagnostic applications.George obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry at The Ohio State University. His doctoral research focused on developing membrane-permeable peptidomimetic inhibitors against intracellular targets. In addition, he developed efficient cell-penetrating motifs for mitochondrial-specific cargo delivery. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards including the University of Cape Coast\'s Best Chemistry Graduate in 2008, Ghana. He was also adjudged the best Quality Assurance Chemist by Kinapharma Ltd. Accra, Ghana in 2011. In addition, George received the First Place award in poster presentation in the Natural Science category during the Appalachian Research Symposium at Johnson City, Tennessee, USA in 2014.Prior to enrolling in graduate education, he worked with a pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Ghana (Kinapharma Ltd) where he gained first-hand experience in the pharmaceutical industry.He enjoys inspiring and mentoring young scientists.
