Dr. Rudolph E. Tanzi and George Alex Co-Founded Acta Pharmaceuticals, a Brain Health & Alzheimer’s drug development company, where George is Chief Executive Officer, President, and a member of the Board of Directors. Acta has licensed IP from Massachusetts General Hospital, which provides the foundation for its initial three clinical development programs. The first program resulted in the formation of CogniShield Global LLC and introduction of COGNISHIELD, a brain health supplement that combines 4 natural products, and is the result of the screening from the Tanzi Lab utilizing its Alzheimer’s-in-a-Dish™ mini-human brain organoid model to identify and validate dozens of combinations that affect normal age-related cognitive decline. The second development program will allow Acta to further assess other Combination Therapies of approved drugs discovered in this testing process and lead to clinical trials in humans of the most promising ones. The third development program benefits from a robust Gamma-Secretase Modulator (GSM) patent estate including GSM-779690 - one of the most promising amyloid-lowering novel Alzheimer’s drugs which Acta is readying to enter clinical trials.
