ABOUT GEORGE WALKER
I’m an experienced mechanical engineer specializing in offshore wind and digital R&D. I’ve led the creation of data-driven simulation tools at Arup and now lead offshore wind asset management in the company\'s specialist technical team.I have broad mechanical engineering experience across the offshore and infrastructure sectors, including offshore foundation load and structural simulation, floating structure analysis, nonlinear finite element modelling (LS-DYNA/Ansys), vibration analysis, structural health monitoring and signal processing. I also have a strong background in engineering software development and innovation. This includes creating LEAP, Arup’s proprietary tool for offshore wind structural integrity assessment - now used on 3.4GW of offshore wind assets, covering over hours of turbine operation. I’m passionate about using physics to solve pressing issues that improve people’s lives. My role involves leadership of a talented team of specialist engineers, analysts, and software developers, focused on delivering high-impact solutions that do just that!
