More than three decades of experience in the development sector, two decades with Indian Government, Non Governmental Organizations (AFPRO and Development Alternatives), funding programs supported by UNDP, UKAID, etc and also an INGO. Presently I am a Freelance Consultant for the past 20 years working with NGOs, INGOs, Bilateral agencies, Government, Corporate Sector, Community Based Organizations, etc. Experience in Project Planning, Needs Assessment, Monitoring, Review and Impact Assessment, Project Management and Coordination, Project Evaluations, Community Development, Pre-Funding Appraisals of Projects, Proposal design, writing and Management of Community/Rural Development projects, Strategic planning and Organizational Development, Feasibility studies and Needs assessment, Baseline and End line surveys, Qualitative and Quantitative surveys, Social and institutional analysis, Poverty/social impact assessment; Technical Backstopping in: Water and Sanitation, Groundwater surveys, NRM and Watershed Development, Soil and Water Conservation, disaster management, Food Security, Livelihoods, Women’s Empowerment, Governance, Grant Management, Financial and Budget Management. Developed hundred odd community development projects and administered some of the projects. Appraise around 500 concept papers, 130(approx) projects on environmental and social issues, hundreds of consultancy assignments, developed more than 120 project proposals on different themes. Managed teams of professionals and supporting staff in different projects/programmes. Conducted trainings on water and sanitation, Watershed management, IWRM, Micro-planning, Baseline data collection, PRA, LFA and Project Cycle Management. Worked in Swaziland for 4 years (time to time) for developing a project on “Conservation of Natural Resources through to address food insecurity” supported by German Government.
