ABOUT GEOFF WILLIS

The London Underground Northern Line Extension was a £1billion mega-project which was completed just 12% over schedule, and 21% over budget. This is almost unprecedented for a major UK infrastructure project, and the risk management process was a key contributor to this success. When I joined the NLE the risk register had less than forty live risks. In the two years I was on the NLE project I put in place simple but effective risk management processes, and the risk register expanded to many hundreds of risks. If you want to save a few million pounds on your next programme or major project, please get in first degree is in physics, as a result of this, and my economics research work, I have a good knowledge of statistical analysis and modelling methods. I have used this to work in the areas of quantitative risk analysis, and risk management and data mining; primarily in the areas of risk based asset / investment management within utilities and construction risk management.Project ManagementI have extensive project management experience working for client organisations, utilities, designers, main contractors and specialist sub-contractors. Projects include asset modelling, risk analysis, design work, tender submissions, through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover of process, mechanical and electrical works.Whether the project is to model assets and integrate software, or build a new process plant, my main responsibility has always been to manage the projects to allow completion of the work to budget and programme, and to the satisfaction of the client.Programme Management, PMO, Project ControlsI have extensive programme and project controls experience working for client organisations, PMO’s, and main contractors. I have a strong drive for systems that are both commercial and simple.I have set up programme management systems in risk management and interface management. I am trained in Primavera P6 and P3e.Economics / FinanceI have carried out independent research on income and wealth distributions, I am the author of \'Why Money Trickles Up\'(econdynamics.org), and other papers.Specialties: Project management, Risk Analysis, Risk management, Quantitative Analysis
