ABOUT GEOFFREY SASSO

Geoff is an experienced litigator, first-chair trial counsel, and problem solver who has spent nearly two decades serving as a trusted advocate and advisor for entities in the healthcare, manufacturing, higher education, financial, and non-profit sectors. His practice includes the litigation of contractual and business disputes, various liability matters, and civil rights actions in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. Outside of the courtroom, Geoff is often retained to counsel clients on risk avoidance and best practices and to conduct confidential, internal investigations for both pre-suit and preventative purposes. Geoff’s healthcare practice is particularly diverse and he has represented providers and institutions in both litigation and non-litigation matters, frequently serving as an extension of the in-house legal team. Geoff is also frequently retained to represent authors and institutions in matters relating to disclosure and ethics requirements for peer-reviewed medical journals. In addition, Geoff has become one of the attorneys on the forefront of the emerging area of civil rights liability for medical providers and, over the past several years, has successfully defended numerous lawsuits involving § 1983 claims against physicians and hospitals, frequently succeeding in dismissing such claims outright.Outside of the legal world, Geoff is proud to serve as the President and Chairman of the Executive Board for the Cradle of Liberty Council, Scouting America - the local Scouting America Council for Philadelphia, Montgomery, and Delaware counties. As President/Chairman, Geoff helps administer one of the largest youth-serving organizations in Pennsylvania, delivering the Scouting program to nearly youth and their families.
