ABOUT GEOFFREY MILLER
I\'m a tenured psychology professor at University of New Mexico. I\'m passionate about Effective Altruism, AI safety & policy, and applying insights about human nature to improve long-term global sentient well-being. My personal website is primalpoly.com I also work with companies, market researchers, ad agencies, NGOs, nonprofits, and governments to better understand people\'s deepest desires and highest aspirations, and to develop evidence-based interventions through marketing, advertising, PR, and policy nudges. I\'m currently working as Chief Science Advisor to matchmaking company Keeper, and doing some research consulting with Center for AI Safety.My books are:\'The Mating Mind\' Intelligence\' (2007),\'Spent\' (2009),\'Mate\' (2015), and \'Virtue Signaling\'(2019). I teach classes on evolutionary psychology, Effective Altruism, human sexuality, intelligence, and emotions, and supervise Ph.D. students.My research focuses on sexual evolution and human nature, including the origins of mate choice, intelligence, creativity, humor, moral virtues, and consumer behavior. I have more than 120 academic publications, cited more than times. My research has been featured in Nature, Science, The New York Times, The Washington Post, New Scientist, and The Economist, on NPR and BBC radio, and in documentaries on CNN, PBS, Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, and BBC. I\'ve also reviewed scientific papers for more than 50 academic journals, and given over 220 talks in 16 countries. I have a B.A. in Biology and Psychology from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from Stanford University.
